Join Heather Berg, an inspiring and experienced meditation teacher, and Kim Marrone, an Acupuncture Physician and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP), as they lead us through a beautiful Yoga Nidra practice for a special afternoon of relaxation and healing. Yoga Nidra provides the mental, physical and emotional benefits of deep sleep. The experience is powerfully expanded when acupuncture is added.
What Will I Learn?
Yoga Nidra is different than meditation and more in line with Shavasana, the last pose in a yoga practice: complete relaxation, healing for the nervous system and a process of letting go to remember the unchanging part of you. The body and mind are at rest, yet you remain aware of your surroundings. Yoga Nidra and acupuncture work together to enhance your ability to move into a more relaxed state of being. Acupuncture helps release obstructions and energetic stagnation that can hold you back from realizing your true power and healing capacity. This afternoon is a unique opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of and connection to your parasympathetic nervous system while restoring balance and flow of prana or the life force.
Our exploration will start with simple movement and breath-work culminating with a guided Yoga Nidra practice and gentle acupuncture techniques. No (physical) Yoga or meditation experience required.
Please bring a:
• yoga mat
• small pillow for under your head
• blanket to cover yourself
• small cloth to cover eyes
• bolster/prop to support yourself in a comfortable lying down position.
