Find peace within through mantra! – Calm + Uplift
June 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm$10 – $80
With Anna Crane
The fourth of our 10-part Wisdom Meditation series, intended for new and seasoned meditators alike. We will join together to meditate in a welcoming and uplifting group setting. Each event in the series features a different meditation technique. We have carefully selected the order of each technique in the series so you can progress in developing your skills in relaxation, breathing, focus, concentration, compassion and higher consciousness. We will discuss the science and benefits of meditation, why and when you may choose the specific meditation technique of the week, and real life examples of how meditation has been powerful and meaningful in the lives of our teachers and participants. There will also be some light physical movement and plenty of time for meditation and questions.
Anna Crane, who is a trained meditation guide in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, will explore the ways in which mantra can be used to find peace within, by creating a calm and uplifting feeling. In Sanskrit, mantra means “a tool for the mind.” Neuroscientists, equipped with advanced brain-imaging tools, are beginning to quantify and confirm some of the health benefits of this ancient practice, such as its ability to help free your mind of background chatter and calm your nervous system. Mantra can be spoken out loud or silently to oneself, so don’t worry if you don’t like to chant—this class is still for you!
Pre-registration is required. You will receive a Zoom link at the time you register.
